Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors appoints Catania and Sheehan to Executive Committee
Centerville – (February 10, 2011) The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board William Zammer Jr. announced today that the Chamber board has elected William Catania, president of Catania Hospitality Group, and Gary Sheehan, CEO of Cape Medical Supply, to serve on the Chamber’s executive committee effective immediately. The executive committee meets monthly and is comprised of the officers of the organization.
“The decision was made to populate the executive committee immediately with directors who are willing and able to lead this organization into the future,” Zammer said. “These candidates are two major industry leaders on Cape Cod, and we value their dedication to their professions and
their commitment to leading the Cape’s regional business group.”
William Catania is president of Catania Hospitality Group of Hyannis, owners of the Cape Codder Resort & Spa in Hyannis, John Carver Inn in Plymouth, the Dan’l Webster Inn in Sandwich and the Hearth n’ Kettle restaurants. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, he has been employed with the company since 1974, serving in a variety of positions at each of the properties. Catania is an active member of the hospitality industry, including serving as past
president of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association and past chairman of the Cape Cod Chapter of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.
Gary Sheehan is president and chief executive officer of Cape Medical Supply. In addition, Gary serves the following organizations: Cape Cod Young Professionals, Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, To Your Good Health: A Healthcare Newsletter, DeMatteo Monness, Leerink Swann, Gerson Lehman Group, and Guidepoint Global. He is frequently quoted in industry publications and has spoken at national conventions, to groups of investing professionals and to federal legislators on
the state of affairs in the home medical equipment and respiratory care industry. Gary is a graduate of Boston College and earned his MBA from Suffolk University. He lives in West Barnstable with his wife and son.
