3 Ways to Visit Cape Cod on a Budget

Cape Cod Trolley

It's that time of year again. School is out and families all over the US are looking for ways to escape for a few days. If you were to ask many of these families if they'd like to go to Cape Cod, they would respond with a resiliant "YES!" So what stops them from coming to our part of the world? Cape Cod has a reputation for being expensive during peak season - and it can be - but you can also find creative ways to keep your vacation more affordable. One of the reasons we have so much on-site is to make things more affordable for our families. From our on-site amenities to our many weekly activities, you'll have more than enough to keep you busy and having a blast. If you'd still like to save a little more, we've come up with 3 ways you can save money while visiting the Cape.

Reserve One of Our Vacation Packages

At Cape Codder Resort & Spa, we go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your whole visit. One of the ways we do that is by offering package deals. Often times they save you money, but they always save you time. Check out our seasonal, holiday and year-round Vacation Packages to see what you'd most like to do.

Teachers love to grab their fellow female teachers to take a girl's getaway during our summer months, so we created the Girl's Getaway Package. You don't have to be a teacher to take advantage of it, but it certainly gives teachers the R&R that they deserve after toiling over grades and behavioral issues for 10 months a year. Our Girl's Getaway Package includes:

  • 1 or 2 nights' accommodations
  • $50 meal allowance for Grand Cru Restaurant or Hearth ’n Kettle for dinner
  • 2 Cranberry Spa Pedicures with Cosmo Martinis
  • 2 - 50 minute Beach Plum Wellness Massages
  • 2 - 50 minute Beach Bliss Customized Facials
  • Gratuity for spa services included

If you're looking for a great way to spend time with your grandkids this summer, why not make some memories with us? Our Grandparents Rule! Package was made because... well... Grandparents Rule!! We know it, you know it and your grandkids know it. They're not going to stay young forever, so make time stand still if only for a night or two. Our Grandparents Rule! Package includes:

Head to a Nearby Pond or Ocean for a Day of Fishing

Our little neck of the woods has some amazing beaches to be sure. If you're looking for a less passive (more active) way to spend the day than laying on the beach, why not check out some of our little ponds? Some of them have parking fees, but they're pretty affordable. You can find information about parking stickers (by day or by week) here. Also, if you're wondering about fishing licenses, we've got you covered. There are different licenses for fresh water fishing and salt water fishing. Information for both can be found here.

Tour Museums and Memorials

We love Cape Cod Potato Chips and if you've ever tried them, you're likely to say the same. Starting on July 1st 2019, Cape Cod Potato Chips Factory will be re-open to begin factory tours again. Be sure to check their website to make sure they're open on days you want to tour.

The Hyannis Trolley operates during peak season (from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and will take you on a tour of our little town. From the transport websiteThe Hyannis Area Trolley begins at the Hyannis Transportation Center and travels down Main Street to the West End Rotary and through the Cape Cod Resort and Conference Center, Sea Street to Gosnold Street to access Kalmus and Veterans Beaches then up Ocean Street to the Ocean Street Docks and the waterfront attractions and returns to the Transportation Center. Passengers may board the Trolley at any of the scheduled bus stops or they may flag the bus down anywhere along the bus route.

Cape Cod Beer is available for tours at 11 am Monday through Saturday. After you finish your tour of the facility, why not stop by for a beer tasting? For only $6, you'll get to taste five different beers (3 oz each) and walk away with a souvenir logo tasting glass.

No matter what you do with your time on the Cape, we're sure you'll find plenty of activities, take beautiful photos and make lasting memories. Welcome to Cape Cod(der)!
